Tech Bulletin Spacer

When removing a starter that has a spacer between the bellhousing and starter motor, you need to use the spacer on your replacement starter motor.  The spacer is specific to the engine and will need to be transferred to the new starter even if you are changing starter brands.

Failing to fit the spacer will cause the starter’s pinion to remain engaged with the flywheel ring gear doing severe damage to the starter motor.
